The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) is searching for an individual to join our business development team as administrative support. This role is essential for the team and the organization, ensuring accurate documentation, implementation and tracking for all business development sales. The right candidate must demonstrate an innovative and collaborative team-oriented style with excellent organization and communication skills, ability to switch tasks throughout the day, and a passion for personal and professional growth. In addition, this individual should be excited to meet and work with clients to provide an excellent experience and retention of their partnership with MICPA.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance, coordination, and management of all administrative details for the Business Development team
  • Coordinate, support, develop and track all reports for Business Development.
  • Manage CRM database, maintain current client information and update information as needed into member database for utilization with billing requests.
  • Submit billing requests to accounting and track all sales on a regular basis.
  • Be the main contact to client/vendor to coordinate scheduled deliverables, communicate key details, and follow up with metrics of campaigns, etc.
  • Manage deliverables calendar slate.
  • Prepare confidential correspondence, reports, and other documents accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist to identify existing and potential non-dues revenue clients and companies to target.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all information.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams

Work environment is general office with collaborative quad cubical workspaces that include standing/sitting desks. We are a hybrid environment that offers the opportunity to work remotely for 2-3 days/week. Physical activity moving throughout the office or onsite for events, and occasionally transporting supplies/equipment weighing up to 50 pounds from the office to cargo vehicle to facilities with wheeled carts; must be able to travel to on-site (out-of-office) locations.

Requirements
Required Skills:
  • Associate degree or a combination of education, training and work experience in either business administration, business, communications or other related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.  
  • Maintain a level of professionalism in responding to communications with clients/partners/vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage own time effectively, maintain control over current projects/responsibilities. Follows up on all relevant issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional rapport with employees, members, volunteers, business community and other stakeholders and work in cross-functional teams
  • Problem solver and forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
  • Possesses necessary knowledge to effectively perform job responsibilities and be able to apply what is learned on the job. Acquires new knowledge and skills as required by the job.
  • Be in the office a minimum of two days a week, as well as for required client meetings, monthly staff meetings and other trainings
  • Access to reliable transportation for traveling to meetings/events within the state.
