Marketing and Events Director JOB DESCRIPTION Reports to: President Summary: This position works collaboratively with the entire Troy Chamber staff to keep the membership informed of all Chamber initiatives, programs, services, and benefits and to effectively promote the organization, its vision and mission. In this position, you will serve as the lead on all chamber events, external marketing initiatives, and social media engagement. In addition, this position is responsible for member communications, social media, public relations, and media relations. The Marketing and Events Director is responsible for the following specific functions and duties: Coordinating all aspects of events (virtual or in-person), including, but not limited to, the scheduling and marketing of events, securing speakers/presenters (when needed), managing catering/facilities. Tracking and ensuring the fulfillment of sponsorship and membership benefits. Creates, develops, and manages all aspects of the Chamber’s marketing and communications programming, including flyers and brochures, e-newsletters, and websites. Take photographs and create video posts at Chamber events Creates content and manages all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn) to include postings and engagement. Maintain and manage all aspects of the website, to include the approval of member events, press releases, and job postings. Builds awareness of Chamber activities including the writing and distribution of press releases, e-newsletter articles, and website content. Works with President to build relationships and acts as the Chamber’s liaison to build earned media for the chamber and its members. Coordinates, markets, and sells advertising for chamber websites, social media, Hot Jobs, eblasts, the TC Insider, and the new Chamber Ap. Ensures marketing deliverables for membership levels and sponsorships and are completed. Step-Up to the Plate- Oversee marketing, restaurant solicitation, social media, media relations, restaurant onboarding and technical support, etc. Maintain and update the App. This includes adding and removing members, updating member to member discounts, sponsorships, and push notifications Responsible for uploading and promoting the Troy Chamber Podcast Series- Members on the Mic and Mission Impactful Performs various other assignments as assigned by VP and/or CEO Committee Leadership Serve a staff liaison for up to 2 different member committees Host consistent meetings for your committee(s) and ensure consistent communication occurs Work with the Vice President to solicit committee event sponsorships Work with other committee liaisons to fulfil their sponsorship deliverables Sales: Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding budgeted goals for advertising sales. This includes eblasts, TCI ads, APP, Multimedia sponsorships, Jobs Board Responsible meeting or exceeding for Committee Event sponsorship goals
Requirements
Position Requirements: Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, strong computer, and graphic design skills. Must be proficient in programs, such as WordPress, Publisher, Canva, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Cloud. Must be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment. Must be able to have a flexible schedule that require consistent communication with the President and Vice President. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field or 3-4 years of relevant experience is preferred.
