This Spring, hop on over to the Troy Historic Village for some ‘egg’stra special fun. The Village is inviting families to their annual Village Egg Hunt Friday March 22 from 4:00-7:30pm and Saturday March 23 from 11:00am-3:00pm.
“This is our fourth year doing an Egg Hunt,” says Youth Programs Director Alex Konieczny. “As a parent myself, I like that its more laid back and structured, not a big, mad dash for eggs with a hundred other kids. Families will be able to take their time and enjoy exploring around the Village while stopping off to play games, collect eggs and treats, and make a fun craft.”
Familes attending the Egg Hunt may work their way around the Village, participating in activities along the way. Each family or group will have their own lane with eggs hidden in it so they are not competing with other families. After kids have collected all the eggs in their lane, they get to trade them in at the “Egg Trading Post” in the General Store for small toys and other treats.
Egg Hunt at the Troy Historic Village isn’t all about collecting eggs. In addition to hunting for eggs, there will over ten other stops around the Village with activities like a lollipop ring-toss, pin the tail on the bunny, an obstacle course, and a colorful egg suncatcher craft to hang in a window.
“We love creating these fun Community Events that open up the Village to families with great activities for kids. While the Egg Hunt is spring-themed we make sure its accessible for a range of ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds” says Executive Director Jen Peters. “We would also like to thank Genisys Credit Union who helps us put on these great events.”
This year will also feature a meet and greet with local
author Meredith Bezak, author the Bunny and Carrot series. She will be onsite
to chat about her book, and visitors will be able to read through the first
installment in the series. Troy Garden Club will also be handing out goodies
for young gardeners.
Village Egg Hunt will be held rain or shine. The
event features free onsite parking at the Village, as well as free overflow
parking at Brookfield Academy just a short walk down the street. For discounted
event pricing, guests may purchase their Egg Hunt admission by noon on Thursday,
March 21 at https://www.troyhistoricvillage.org/programs/village-egg-hunt.
Advance price is $7 for Troy Historical Society Members and $9 for Non-Members. Tickets will also be available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis ($8 for Troy Historical Society Members and $10 for Non-Members). All children under 2 are admitted free.
