This
annual tradition is the premier fundraiser for the RCS Foundation, which
supports student learning in Rochester Community Schools through scholarships,
school grants and enrichment programs.
Individuals
and groups can participate by running or walking a 5K loop that begins at Chief
Financial Credit Union, 200 Diversion Street in Rochester Hills, and runs
through the historic neighborhoods of Downtown Rochester, the Rochester
Municipal Park, and the Paint Creek and Clinton River Trails.
New
this year, participants also have the opportunity to choose a family-friendly,
one-mile color fun run where runners and walkers will pass through clouds of
color powder at the sound of the horn and throughout the course. The
traditional 5K run/walk will follow the completion of the color run.
Online registration will remain open until
the morning of the event on Saturday, September 17. Registration is $30 for
adults and $20 for children, kindergarten through grade 12. One registration
allows for participation in both the color run and 5K. To save your spot, click

Participants
will receive a race package that includes a t-shirt (until supplies last), bib
and medal. All community members are welcome to participate, including
competitive racers, walkers, children and families with strollers. For more

“Students, staff, families, local businesses and community partners contribute to the success of the Hometown Hustle to support our children. These essential partners have enabled the RCS Foundation to enhance opportunities in the areas of academics, arts and athletics for more than 25 years,” said Joann Beydoun, RCS Foundation director. “In recent years, the RCS Foundation has provided funding to establish a districtwide orchestra program, enrich classroom learning, award global awareness scholarships, provide social-emotional wellness training and resources, and more.”
This
year marks the sixth year of hosting the Hometown Hustle 5K with our presenting
sponsor, Chief Financial Credit Union.
“The RCS Foundation Hometown Hustle is a fun way to support students and meet the community,” said Chief Financial President and CEO Tom Dluzen. “We are thrilled once again to be the presenting sponsor to kick off the Hometown Hustle right here at our Chief headquarters. Part of what makes this community so special is its commitment to education and students. Seeing hundreds of people gather to support our schools is inspiring. The Chief team is looking forward to 'hustling' alongside residents, teachers, local leaders and supporters.”
The proceeds of the 2022 Hometown Hustle will benefit social-emotional wellness initiatives throughout RCS schools. “We are truly honored to partner with Chief Financial Credit Union, plus many new and legacy sponsors, who recognize the value of investing in the commitment to care for the whole child, academically, socially and emotionally,” said Beydoun. “Together, we will con
tinue to do great things for our students.”
