Spring 2025 Class Schedule:

March 12: Kitty & Dog

With many requests to learn how to paint more animals and pets, watercolor artist and teacher Megan Swoyer will show students of all levels how she creates her furry friends in a step-by-step process. Students are welcome to bring photos of their pets, too, for painting pointers. Megan suggests students take a photo of their pet and print it out on a full sheet of paper so you can see subtleties, form, and values.

April 2: Northern Michigan Lighthouse

A favorite Michigan lighthouse comes to life on paper when watercolor artist and teacher Megan Swoyer shows students of all levels how to create this guardian of the Great Lakes. Step-by-step is the name of the game; wet and dry techniques will be applied.

April 9: Chick & Bunny

Watercolor artist and teacher Megan Swoyer takes students of all levels down a path adorned with a variety of watercolor techniques that will help students turn out lovely works. We’ll work with wet and dry techniques for these two cuties; each is a separate painting.

April 30: Rockin’ Robin

Watercolor artist and teacher Megan Swoyer will bring a few samples or Robin paintings to class, from free and loose to more realistic — students of all levels will learn about different techniques to capture various styles. Rich reds, springy greens, and an intuitive background where each result is unique will be applied.

May 7: Tulips & Lilacs

Just in from the garden, this bouquet of mingling beauty conveys pure spring! Watercolor artist and teacher Megan Swoyer will show students of all levels various tulip techniques and easy-as-pie brush strokes for vibrant lilacs.

May 14: Gerbera Daisies/White & Pink

The challenge of creating white flowers is banished in this class where teacher Megan Swoyer will show students of all levels how to paint beautiful white flowers and soft pink ones, too, all amid a variety of greens.
