In its formal accreditation notification, the ACEN indicated that OCC’s Nursing program’s aggregate licensure examination pass rates for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) have been greater than 90% for the past three years, a major area of strength for the program.
“We take great pride in the continuation of compliance with ACEN accreditation standards and the near 90% pass rates on the licensure exam by our students, “said Zenet Patten, Associate Dean of Nursing and Health Professions. “This accreditation is really a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff to provide a quality education to our students and prepare them for a successful nursing career upon graduation.”
ACEN’s Board of Commissioners granted OCC’s Nursing program continuing accreditation and scheduled the next evaluation visit for Fall 2030. The ACEN visited OCC in September 2022 to review the Nursing program for this current accreditation evaluation. OCC was first accredited by ACEN in 1990.
Oakland Community College’s nursing program is one of the largest and most affordable nursing programs in the state where students receive an exceptional variety of clinical experiences, including rotations at Ascension Health, William Beaumont/Corewell Health, Detroit Medical Center, Henry Ford Health, McLaren and Trinity
