Troy Kiwanis members – President – Vicki Cerven-Astell and
VP – Lori Sisk along with Troy School District Superintendent – Dr. Richard
Machesky presented a $10,000 check to ARISE Counseling Center and Training
Institute – Colleen Reveley (Co-Owner).
ARISE Counseling Center & Training Institute will
provide mental health counseling sessions funded by the KIT Fund for community youth
going through depression, anxiety or mental health crisis.
Mental health is an issue that affects millions of
individuals, yet it remains a topic that many people still struggle to openly
discuss. With this financial assistance fund, Troy Kiwanis Foundation hopes to
provide families (with no financial means or insurance) obtain mental health
counseling for their youth’s mental wellness.
This mental health assistance donation will support:
- Youth
mental health and well-being
- Strategies
for managing stress, anxiety, and depression
“We believe that mental health should be treated with the
same importance as physical health,” said Vicki Cerven-Astell, President of Kiwanis
Club of Troy. “Our goal is to provide funds to help individuals understand that
it’s “okay to not be okay”, to start conversations, and to ensure that no one
feels alone in their journey.”
