NBS Commercial Interiors, the sole Steelcase dealer in Southeast Michigan, announced an ownership change earlier this year resulting in the company becoming 95% woman owned. This marks a significant milestone for the organization, transitioning the business from previous owner, Rich Schwabauer, to the four current shareholders, Heather Lanier, Lori Powe, Kris Gula and Scott Telder. This transition represents a seamless progression in the evolution of the organization, reinforcing NBS’s dedication to growth, stability, and continued success.
“I wanted my retirement from NBS to be built on continuity, not change, for our NBS team members. These shareholders have worked very hard with me over the years to effectively lead NBS. Heather, Lori, Kris, and Scott have a solid vision to lead NBS successfully into the future,” said Rich Schwabauer, former President.
The new ownership team is excited to grow NBS’s in-house offerings of construction, architectural products, floorcovering, furniture, technology, and commercial cleaning across all their locations in Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio. NBS’s integrated approach provides a unique value to their clients, and the team is committed to investing in products and services that create engaging and inspiring space experiences.
