REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR THE 15th ANNUAL TROY TRAFFIC JAM SUNDAY, AUGUST 6th AT THE COLUMBIA CENTER!
Year after year, the Troy Traffic Jam (TTJ) has brought car enthusiasts a jam-packed lineup of antiques, classics, hot rods, muscle cars, and high-performance vehicles. Over the past 14 years some of the highlights have included a 1930 Packard Phaeton, 1957 Chevy Nomad, and 2017 Lotus Sports Car. Each year organizers seek out unique vehicles and amazing stories from car collectors across Michigan. There’s something for everyone! Car enthusiasts will find detailed restorations, rare models, and high-performance engines; kids will see how cars have evolved over the years; and everyone will find that “I wish I could have it” fan favorite, whatever your taste may be.
“It’s difficult to choose my favorite cars over the years,” said Alan Kiriluk, KIRCO Chairman and member of the TTJ planning team. “We’ve had a rare and beautifully restored Tucker, and an exquisite Duesenberg. We seek specialty cars from high-end collectors but are also amazed by what everyday collectors bring to the show.”
While cars are the main attraction, the Troy Traffic Jam is a free and fantastic family-friendly day out for many reasons. Visitors can vote for their favorite of more than 250 vehicles while strolling the show. Photo ops abound among the show vehicles and newest Troy firetrucks and police vehicles. The award-winning robots from Troy area First Robotics teams will be back to demonstrate innovations in programming and inspire the next generation of car designers. The Troy Historic Village tent will connect you to our automotive past through hands on activities for all ages and Sparkles the Clown will be painting faces again this year. You’ll be able to catch lunch while you’re at the Traffic Jam and cool off with an ice cream treat if the day gets hot.
TTJ merchandise will once again be available, as
well as the opportunity to win cash in one of the 50/50 drawings, specialty
items in the silent auction, or door prizes from valued TTJ sponsors.
If you’re still looking for more, stay tuned for an upcoming, exciting announcement about a new Traffic Jam activity that will get all ages racing down to the Columbia Center!
Funds raised from the Troy Traffic Jam fuel education at the Troy Historic Village. Presenting Sponsor KIRCO and Proud Host Venue Columbia Center have been dedicated supporters and key partners in raising thousands of dollars towards field trips and hands-on programs at the Troy Historic Village over the last 14 years. “We truly couldn’t pull off such a blockbuster event without the support of our KIRCO and Columbia Center team” Jen Peters, Troy Historic Village Executive Director noted. “The resources they provide enable us to create meaningful education programs at the Village through a fantastic community event on Big Beaver—it’s a win/win!”
Individuals interested in displaying their vehicle(s) are now able to register at TroyTrafficJam.com. Pre-registration is $25 per car and offers quick check-in and swag bag compliments of TTJ’s sponsors and registrants. Registration on the day of the event will be $30. All registration fees for the Troy Traffic Jam are tax deductible and support the Troy Historic Village. “The Troy Traffic Jam is one of our most exciting fundraising events - and the biggest! This annual car show is a great way to bring the community together: car aficionados, families, history lovers, and sponsors all in the same space to help a great place—the Troy Historic Village!” notes Historical Society Board President Padma Kuppa.
