TROY, MICHIGAN (October 17, 2024) – Friday November 8, Michigan Designer Center invites design aficionados and home décor enthusiasts to join them for Gather – the ultimate event for all things decorating and entertaining! From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to tour nearly 30 stunning vignettes featuring tablescapes and entertaining spaces throughout participating showrooms and studios and meet the designers who created them.

“We’re thrilled to host an event that not only highlights the exceptional creativity of our design community but also gives back to those in need,” says Susan Todebush, MDC General Manager and Executive Vice President. “With every display, there’s a chance to reimagine how we gather in our homes, while making a meaningful impact by supporting Gleaners Community Food Bank.” 

Admission to the open house portion of the event is a non-perishable food item or monetary donation of your choice to Gleaners Community Food Bank, which has been “feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities” since 1977. Gleaners partners with hundreds of pantries, schools, senior centers, soup kitchens, shelters, and other nonprofit organizations in southeast Michigan. 

Attendees can also cast their votes for their favorite design in the “People’s Choice Awards” for a chance to win a signed copy of Establishing Home by renowned interior designer Jean Stoffer. Special Presentation: "The Art of Tablescaping" with Arthur White At 2 p.m., guests are also invited to attend an inspiring presentation by Arthur White of A & E Décor, who will reveal the secrets to crafting unforgettable table settings. Arthur’s eye for style and impeccable attention to detail have made him a favorite among event hosts and interior designers alike.

Tickets for this exclusive presentation are $10, with all proceeds supporting Gleaners. After the presentation, Arthur will be on hand for a complimentary book signing and reception at The Ghiordes Knot showroom (Suite 90), where guests can purchase his newly released book, Distinctive Decor: The Art of Tablescaping, for $45. (No tickets are required to attend book signing and reception).
