OCC Offers Chancellor Scholarship for Fall 2022, Winter 2023 - Deadline to apply is March 31, 2022

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. - March 2, 2022 - Empowerment and increased self-esteem are just two of the many benefits Sydney Lawson described when receiving a scholarship from Oakland Community College. The scholarship was a significant part of her OCC experience that led to her love for education.

Many Oakland County high school seniors, including Lawson, have benefitted from one scholarship in particular: OCC’s Chancellor Scholarship. This annual?scholarship covers full tuition and fees for the first academic year and is awarded to qualifying high school seniors and graduates of qualified adult and alternative education programs in Oakland County.

“Like Sydney, I also received a scholarship toward college and know the impact it can make,” said OCC Chancellor Peter Provenzano.?“It is an honor to offer this potentially life-changing opportunity to amazing students in Oakland County.”

To qualify for the Chancellor’s Scholarship, students must be a high school senior graduating from a public, private, charter or home school program in Oakland County with a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA). Adult and alternative public or private graduating high school students in Oakland County qualify with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Individual awards equal $3,500 ($1,750 for the fall semester and $1,750 for the winter semester).  
Recipients must attend OCC at least full time (12 credit hours minimum) for both fall and winter semesters. If the student does not attend classes, the scholarship is forfeited.
