The Troy
Farmers Market
isn’t your average stop for local fruits and
vegetables. Open, June 17 through September 30, this farmers market makes every
Friday afternoon an event, and will be bigger and better than ever in their new
location at the Jeanne M. Stine Community Park, 241 Town Center, just west of
Livernois.
While it is a great place to find quality
local produce, Troy Farmers Market also includes an array of Michigan-made products, like homemade
pasta, wine and BBQ sauces, as well as other farmed products like honey, eggs,
beef, pork, chicken plus flowers, plants and shrubs. Most vendors have been
with the market since its first year in 2018, but new to the
market this year are some exciting new additions, like Rumi’s Passion
gluten-free baked goods and fresh cut flowers from Elsie Blooms.
Beyond the products you can
take home, the Troy Farmers Market is a great place for lunch. They have a food
truck at every market,
with appearances from Cousins Maine Lobster, The D Loft Café, The
Pita Post, Daley Grind, All City Dogs, Eman’s Kitchen, The Lobster Food Truck, Notch’Yo
Nachos, and more.
Involve the whole family in your weekly
farmers market trip! Troy Farmers Market has live music and different take-away
crafts for kids at every market. On June 17th, the first 250 customers (one per
family) to visit will get a free shopping tote bag for joining in the fun.
So mark your calendars for an entire summer’s
worth of Friday afternoon plans -- Troy Farmers Market is open 11 am – 4 pm, June
17 through September 30. Troy Farmers Market is sponsored by community partners SMART, Genisys Credit Union and Beaumont Health.
